About Us
Light Empowerment Foundation (LIEF) is a non-profit organization Our primary objective is to help alleviate poverty and empower the vulnerable in our communities through programmes in education, health, livelihood, financial inclusion and meeting other basic needs like shelter and food.

Meet our founders, whose vision, passion, and commitment to creating positive change led to the establishment of Light Empowerment Foundation.

Anne Kazungu Okwera
Director HR,Finance and Overall Programs
Anne Kazungu attained a Degree in Education majoring in Chemistry and Biology from Makerere University in Uganda in 1998. She then went on to hold several positions in leadership, training and development, Human Resources and Organizational Development in the Telecommunications industry, and International non-government.

Richard Okechi
Director Education,Health and Strategy
Richard is a teacher by profession and brings on board a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, management, and education. He is a born-again Christian and an evangelist with very strong faith and foundation in the Christian church. He is married with five children.

Donald Ngarombe
Director Agriculture and Rural Outreaches Programmes
Donald has extensive experience in the tourism and hotel industries. He is a good strategist and marketer, and his experience will help LIEF in creating new partnerships and collaboration. He is married with two children.

Lucy Olama
Executive Director -LIEF IN Uganda Programme
Lucy brings a strong and solid foundation in sales and customer service. She was appointed as LIF in Uganda’s Executive Director to steer the organisation to achieve its mission and vision in Uganda. She has a bachelor’s degree in social sciences from Kyambogo University. She has a daughter and lives with her family in Kampala, Uganda.

Betty Jamugisa
Director Philanthropy and Partnerships
Betty has a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences from Makerere University. She is best known for corporate account management and sales. Her experiences will help LIEF in linkages and collaborations with both national and international partnerships. She is driven by her strong Christian faith and background. She has two children.

Emmanuel Sabiti
Director Marketing and Microfinance
Emmanuel has an extensive sales and marketing background and is also known for his strong commitment to Rotary Club and Gaba Community Church work and leadership. His experiences will give LIEF the edge in marketing its profile among the local and international community. He has one child. |

Judith Pacuwegi
Director Strategy and Women Empowerment
Judith is an aspiring political leader who has the interest of seeing community members get better livelihoods. Her background will help LIEF in mobilizing resources from both national and international partners. She has two children.

At Light Empowerment Foundation, we believe in empowering communities to take charge of their own development. We work closely with local leaders and residents to identify needs, develop solutions, and implement projects that drive positive change. From training and capacity-building to advocacy and support, we help communities unlock their potential and build a brighter future.
Education is the key to unlocking individual and community potential. Our education and skills development programs focus on providing vulnerable populations with the knowledge, skills, and competencies needed to succeed in life.
